North Nowra Cambewarra Cricket U11 Blues team played the old traditional enemy Nowra over the weekend.\u00a0\u00a0 As usual, nearly everyone arrived early wearing their best Saturday morning faces.\u00a0\u00a0 You just can\u2019t beat the early morning cricket games after a late Friday evening spent on the internet.<\/p>\n
OK, back to the game.\u00a0 North Nowra Cambewarra fielded first.\u00a0 I\u2019m going to shorten it to NNCCC so we don\u2019t waste too much ink.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Just repeating,\u00a0 NNCCC fielded first after Micah Edwards did a sterling job winning the toss and deciding to field first.\u00a0 The toss winning continues this teams winning streak.\u00a0 We\u2019re running good at the moment.<\/p>\n
The game highlights were plentiful.\u00a0 Where do we start?\u00a0\u00a0 There\u2019s a lot to mention with little time and even less space afforded to us to detail everything before this article ends.\u00a0\u00a0 Wicket Keeper Tully Dennis took a great catch off a Toby Huard thunderbolt.\u00a0\u00a0 Troy Sweet rattled the stumps and Jacob Zerafa did also, not once \u2013 but twice in a single over.\u00a0 \u00a0Micah Edwards, Alex Jelavic and Harry Evans all bowled well, conceding few runs.\u00a0\u00a0 Jack Walsh and Jack Sweet both bowled very tight overs conceding few runs and troubled Nowra\u2019s enthusiastic batters.<\/p>\n
In the batting department, we ran like racehorses gaining heaps of runs.\u00a0\u00a0 Quite a coincidence considering there\u2019s so much Melbourne Cup excitement in the air.\u00a0 Or perhaps it was all that tiresome running we did at training?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This team just loves to score runs while the spectators enjoy tranquility of Bomaderry Veladrome Oval while resting their weary bodies and legs.\u00a0 They could remember being able to run that well 30 years ago, but alas\u2026.. A batting highlight was Toby Huard and Jack Walsh running 5 from a single delivery.\u00a0 Good one boys!\u00a0 Of course, as you\u2019d fully expect, everyone batted well.<\/p>\n
